The Iowa Hawkeyes community is in mourning following the sudden passing of Head Coach Jan Jensen. Jensen, who had been a beloved figure in the university’s basketball program, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, leaving a profound void in the world of college basketball.

Jensen’s career with the Hawkeyes was marked by her exceptional leadership, dedication, and passion for the game. She was instrumental in shaping the team’s success and fostering a sense of unity and determination among her players. Under her guidance, the Hawkeyes achieved numerous milestones and consistently competed at the highest level.

University of Iowa President Barbara Wilson expressed her condolences in a heartfelt statement. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jan Jensen.
