King Power Stadium Wants Veteran Striker with Over 270 Premier League Appearances, Steve Cooper Targets Hotshot that is better than ‘Out-of-form’ Patson – Player could be open to move as Starlet Struggles for minutes under Manager

Leicester City is intensifying their pursuit of a Premier League forward who has accumulated 274 appearances in the league.

After securing their place in the Premier League, Leicester City is revamping their squad for the upcoming season. Steve Cooper has taken over from Enzo Maresca as the new manager at King Power Stadium, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has transferred to Chelsea, following Maresca.

To bolster their midfield, Leicester is considering Juventus’ Arthur Melo and Matias Soule as potential targets. Additionally, the departure of Kelechi Iheanacho suggests the need for another striker in this transfer window.

Leicester’s aim this summer is to strengthen four key areas, with a center-forward being a priority.

Recent updates from Alan Nixon on his Patreon suggest Leicester is pursuing Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew. The 32-year-old, who has 274 Premier League appearances and is in the final year of his contract, could be an affordable option for Leicester.

Ayew’s experience could be valuable for Leicester, who finished the 2023/24 season with the second-highest number of goals in the Championship. However, with Iheanacho’s departure and Dewsbury-Hall’s move, the team is now heavily reliant on a 37-year-old Jamie Vardy and an underperforming Patson Daka for goals.

Despite Ayew’s extensive Premier League experience, his recent performance—scoring just four goals in the past season—might not make him the ideal fit for Leicester’s attacking needs.
