Hammers Pursuit on Columbian intensifies as West Ham offers ‘Mouth-watering’ Proposal plus Player in Exchange for Rival club’s Forward

West Ham United have reportedly proposed a revised offer of £32 million plus Lewis Orford and a sell-on clause to Aston Villa for Jhon Duran. The 20-year-old Colombian international, who played a limited role last season, is expected to move this summer and has shown interest in opportunities from other clubs.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that West Ham’s offer includes £32 million, Orford, and a sell-on clause. It remains to be seen whether this package will persuade Villa to approve the transfer or if further negotiations will be necessary.

Duran has scored eight goals in 49 appearances for Villa. With his role mainly as a backup to Ollie Watkins and no indication of a change, he is likely seeking a more prominent position elsewhere. Given his inconsistent impact, challenges adapting to Unai Emery’s tactics, and off-field issues, it may be advantageous for Villa to consider a transfer now and use the funds to acquire players better suited to Emery’s needs.

Romano suggests that Villa’s asking price for Duran is £40 million. Whether the inclusion of Orford and a sell-on clause will be sufficient to accept a lower fee remains to be seen, as the club continues to rebuild.

Orford, 18, is highly regarded for his performances at youth level with West Ham and England. It will be interesting to see if Villa are interested in integrating him into their first team or if they view him as a potential asset for future profit through a successful loan.

With Monchi leading the transfer strategy, Villa’s decision to part ways with Duran seems logical. Securing a favorable deal could provide the necessary funds to target new signings and enhance the squad’s quality and depth in the attacking third.
