‘Here We Go’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms Toffees Fourth Signing for this transfer window – Club set to Exchange Documents Today and commence Medicals

Everton is poised to announce the signing of Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom on loan. This move, reported by Fabrizio Romano, includes an option-to-buy clause. Initially discussed last week, Gianluca Di Marzio indicated that a temporary agreement was likely, highlighting the loan with an option-to-buy as the probable outcome.

Confirming the deal, Romano tweeted: “Everton will formally complete Jesper Lindstrom deal today as club’s set to exchange documents with Napoli. Loan move with buy option clause around €22.5/23m, final details being sorted ahead of medical tests.”

Lindstrom, a 24-year-old Danish attacker, gained prominence after a successful start to his career, despite a challenging season in Italy. He will be Everton’s fourth addition this summer, joining Jack Harrison, Iliman Ndiaye, and Tim Iroegbunam. Following a season where Everton struggled to score from open play, Lindstrom’s arrival is expected to bolster their offensive capabilities, particularly on the wings.

Lindstrom’s career began at Brondby IF, where he amassed 15 goals and 15 assists after breaking into the first team at 19. He later moved to Frankfurt for £6.2m, becoming a key player under current Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner. In his debut Bundesliga season (2021/22), he was named Rookie of the Year for his contributions to Frankfurt’s Europa League victory.

Despite a promising start, Lindstrom moved to Napoli for €30m (with potential add-ons up to €5m) after his successful stint in Frankfurt. However, his time in Italy was challenging, with Lindstrom struggling amidst Napoli’s difficulties in Serie A. He managed just two starts and was on the field for only 430 minutes across 22 league appearances.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, Lindstrom’s versatility allows him to play on either wing, providing Everton manager Sean Dyche with additional options in the attack.
