EXCLUSIVE – Busy Summer for Lopetegui as West Ham ahead of Erik Ten Hag in race to SIGN Moroccan Professional – The Hammers in advanced talks with Top European Side over player’s move to The London Stadium

West Ham have reportedly initiated discussions with a top European club to acquire a player who is also coveted by Manchester United under Erik ten Hag.

Under new manager Julen Lopetegui, West Ham has been very active this summer, securing Max Kilman from Wolves and Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme.

Jean-Clair Todibo and Alexis Saelemaekers are also on West Ham’s radar, indicating their intent to bolster their squad significantly this summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, West Ham is currently negotiating to sign Bayern Munich’s fullback Noussair Mazraoui, with Bayern willing to sell the Moroccan international for €20m (£17m) this summer.

Plettenberg reported: “West Ham is continuing discussions to secure Noussair Mazraoui! There have been more talks with FC Bayern in the last few hours. Bayern is ready to sell the 26-year-old for at least €20m.”

While no agreement has been reached yet, West Ham’s interest is strong, especially with manager Julen Lopetegui and sporting director Tim Steidten keen on Mazraoui. Mazraoui himself is eager to play in the Premier League next season and is also a target for Manchester United.

Acquiring Mazraoui would be a significant coup for West Ham, potentially outmaneuvering Manchester United in the race for his signature. The 26-year-old has demonstrated his quality with Bayern and Ajax, proving himself as a top fullback capable of performing at the highest level in Europe.

This move aligns with West Ham’s ambition to qualify for European competition next season, showcasing their determination under new management. Mazraoui’s desire to move to England could be pivotal in negotiations with Bayern Munich.
