Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced that Daren Sammy, the current head coach of the white-ball teams, will assume the role of head coach for the Test team, replacing Andre Coley. This transition is set to occur following the conclusion of the Test series against Pakistan.

Andre Coley, who has been at the helm of the Test team since May 2023, expressed his commitment to the upcoming series, stating, “I believe that right now at this juncture, I’m not necessarily focusing on that. What is most important is the series is in front of us, Pakistan.”

Daren Sammy, a former West Indies captain, has been leading the white-ball teams since May 2023. His appointment as the all-format head coach underscores CWI’s confidence in his leadership and vision for West Indies cricket.

This strategic move aims to bring continuity and a unified coaching philosophy across all formats, as West Indies cricket seeks to build on its recent performances and foster a cohesive team environment.
