Manchester United seems poised to succeed where West Ham fell short, as the club is on track to sign Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui for a transfer fee of €25 million.
West Ham was unable to finalize a deal for the Moroccan defender due to their unwillingness to meet the demands of his agent. In contrast, Manchester United has managed to negotiate effectively with Mazraoui’s representatives and is expected to finalize the transfer within the week.
On a positive note for West Ham, they are hopeful that this development could encourage Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka to make a move to the London Stadium. Wan-Bissaka, whose future at Old Trafford seems uncertain, is reportedly considering the transfer, having previously declined the opportunity.
Although Wan-Bissaka may not offer the same versatility as Mazraoui, his strong one-on-one defensive skills could address the weaknesses West Ham has experienced on their right flank.
