Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that five Championship clubs have made offers for Harrison Burrows, who has been linked with Sheffield United, and suggested that Leeds United might be one of those interested.
Burrows, a 22-year-old wing-back developed through the Peterborough academy, played a pivotal role for the club last season, contributing 15 assists in League One. Sheffield United, aiming to strengthen their squad after relegation from the Premier League, have been prominent in their pursuit of Burrows. MacAnthony, known for his appearances on talkSPORT, has openly discussed the interest in Burrows.
On the radio show, he mentioned: “We’ve received offers from five Championship teams for him. We’ve accepted a few of these offers, and it’s now up to the player to decide. I won’t elaborate further on that.”
He continued, reflecting on Burrows’ long tenure with Peterborough since the age of nine: “While it’s unfortunate to lose him, I’m excited to see him potentially advance to the Premier League.”
When asked about Sheffield United’s recent signings and whether Leeds might be a potential suitor, MacAnthony responded: “Leeds and several other clubs have also shown interest. Our young talents attract attention, and we still have some work to do ourselves.”
