Cesc Fabregas, manager of the newly promoted Serie A team Como, has personally contacted Arthur Melo, who is a transfer target for Everton and Leicester City, to persuade him to move to Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
The Brazilian midfielder spent last season on loan at Fiorentina, playing a significant role in helping Vincenzo Italiano’s squad reach the Europa Conference League final. Arthur appeared in 33 of Fiorentina’s 38 league matches, scoring six goals.
Currently back with his parent club Juventus, Arthur is awaiting clarity on his future amid interest from various clubs. This includes interest from England, where he played the 2022/23 season on loan with Liverpool.
Everton and Leicester City are keen on bringing Arthur to the Premier League, but they face competition from Fabregas’ Como. According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Fabregas personally called Arthur to discuss his plans to make him a key midfielder for the next season.
However, Arthur is reportedly more interested in joining Everton or Leicester. His salary expectations pose a potential issue for Como, and he is eager to prove himself again in the Premier League after a challenging stint at Liverpool. His representatives are exploring various options, with a move to Como not being a top priority and other Premier League opportunities being considered.
