West Ham United have inquired about signing one of Lionel Messi’s teammates from Inter Miami.
The start of the Julen Lopetegui era, working with Tim Steidten, has been promising.
Max Kilman appears to be a strong addition, and Lopetegui has expressed optimism about Luis Guilherme.
The club has also garnered substantial fees from the sales of Flynn Downes, Said Benrahma, and Thilo Kehrer.
Despite these successes, Lopetegui aimed for up to eight new signings this summer, indicating more work ahead.
Along with targeting a new center-forward, Steidten seems focused on enhancing the midfield options for Lopetegui.
According to GiveMeSport, West Ham has contacted Inter Miami regarding 21-year-old Diego Gomez.
The attacking Paraguayan has recorded three goals and three assists in 12 MLS appearances this season.
However, West Ham may face strong competition from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Journalist Ben Jacobs, who shared the news on X, mentioned West Ham’s inquiry about Gomez.
The report also indicates Brighton is close to finalizing a £14 million deal for Gomez, who is expected to play for Paraguay in the Paris Olympics.
Negotiations between Brighton and Miami for Gomez are reportedly well advanced, with the player eager to make the move.
