Last season, Chalobah made 17 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, scoring once and contributing to three clean sheets in his 1,227 minutes on the pitch.

Analyst Raj Chohan described Chalobah as an “exciting” talent, highlighting his ability to anticipate danger, positional awareness, and adeptness in playing the ball.

Chalobah, who is right-footed, stands at 6 foot 3 inches, which provides a solid physical presence along with his mixture of recovery speed, aggression, and skill on the ball. At Chelsea, known for their ball-dominant style, Chalobah averaged 74.02 passes attempted per 90 minutes with an 89.4% success rate.

Comparatively, Chalobah’s potential partner, the left-footed Max Kilman, stands at the same height and also possesses strong attributes, although he averaged 60.76 passes per 90 with an 85.7% success rate in a less ball-dominant setup at Wolves.

If Chalobah were to join West Ham, he would likely form a partnership with Kilman, replacing the current pairing involving Frenchman Kurt Zouma. Chalobah’s passing statistics outshine those of Zouma, indicating a potential shift in West Ham’s playing style towards a more possession-oriented approach under Lopetegui.

Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has labeled Chalobah a “monster” based on his breakthrough stats at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel in 2021, suggesting West Ham could secure a bargain and complement their recent defensive signing of Kilman effectively.
